Val Munson

Pastor, Evangelist and Director of Spiritfire Global Ministries, went home to be with his Lord on Oct. 20, 2022. He had been in the ministry for 50 years. He came from a family of ministers. Raised in the church, he had an encounter with God as a 10-year-old boy in the old Calvary Church in Bremerton, WA, where he experienced a three hour immersion in the Holy Spirit that instilled in him a passion for the things of God. He was the Senior Pastor of three large churches in Texas, California, and Nebraska. A man of the Word and prayer, Pastor Val was called a prolific Bible scholar. Healings were the norm in his meetings. His intense pursuit of God’s presence through the years resulted in the manifest presence of the Holy Spirit wherever he ministered. He will be greatly missed by family and friends around the world.

To All Of Our Dear Friends and Family:

Thank you all for the emails, beautiful cards, phone calls, and gifts sent to me during this sorrowful time…yet I am celebrating Val’s life for it was so well-lived for God and family.

I want to give you just a glimpse into our ‘life in ministry’ in the last almost eleven years of marriage. Yes, ministry never stopped despite all of his physical challenges. Our vision for Spiritfire Global Ministries continued to burn bright for Christ all over the world.

The ministry of Spiritfire was conceived by the Holy Spirit and our vision and purpose for the ministry continues to accomplish God’s purposes in the nations of the world. Although Val’s race is won, Spiritfire will continue to support overseas missions and help local pastors and churches here in the States.

The following are just a few of the many outreaches to which Spiritfire has been able to contribute for the furtherance of the gospel and for winning souls to Christ.

…Val and I took trips to Africa and India to teach and train young pastors and their wives for ministry.

…The ministry purchased motorcycles for pastors in Africa who, without them, would have to travel by foot to reach their congregations during the week.

…Spiritfire supports an Assembly of God missionary Steve and Trina Pennington in Africa. He serves as the Vice Chancellor of the Pan African Theological Seminary in Lone’,Togo. His wife serves all the women of the Assembly of God denomination on the African continent. This couple has been ministering for the Lord faithfully in Africa for over 25 years.

…In India, sewing machine were purchased for ladies to make clothing which enables them to sell what they make for added income for their families.

…Spiritfire donates Study Bibles throughout the world each month for pastors who otherwise would never have opportunity for an in-depth study of the Word.

…Through partnership with Harvestime International Network, Spiritfire makes available free curriculum for pastors and Christian leaders and enables those who want to pursue a degree in ministry to do so. Visit Harvestime International Network at Harvestime.Org

…Spiritfire partnered with others to put a wonderful young woman of God through Bible School at the Redding Bethel School of Ministry.

…The ministry helps pastors in financially difficult times by paying off cars, giving financial support, computers, and gifts.

…Spiritfire has provided travel trailers for the homeless and recovering addicts through the ministry of Monty and Holly Christensen.

…Spiritfire conducts ministry in prisons and convalescent hospitals. I have ministered for years in the California prisons and will now be entering the Montana prison in Shelby in 2023. Val went with me and preached many sermons in the Oakwood Convalescent facility in Fresno, California. Up until the time of his promotion to Glory he could still quote scriptures and talk about the Lord to anyone who would listen. Many pastors received revelations and were blessed by prophecies given by him right up until the time of his passing.

…Spiritfire has produced healing and prayer conferences in Montana and California that have changed lives.

…Spiritfire partners with Harvestime International Ministries to produce a web-site for caregivers who are caring for family members suffering from dementia. This website literally has helped people from all over the world and enabled some to start their own caregiver groups. Some 11,500 people have visited the site from January-November of this year alone. Our local ICDN group started in 2018 in Fresno and was a vital support group for many families. Visit the International Christian Dementia Network at icdnetwork.net

…Spiritfire, supports Israel on a monthly basis.

…The ministry gives to the needs of agencies in the U.S. like the Samaritan’sPurse and many others.

There is more to tell, but maybe in another epilogue! As you can tell, I love to brag about the goodness of the Lord and His many blessing throughout the years. Val was a man after Gods own heart, literally always ‘after the heart of God’.

Spiritfire will forever live on in the hearts and lives of the multitudes who have been blessed to receive from it. Our wonderful board members and I promise before God that we will carry on the Spiritfire torch of the Gospel of Jesus Christ until He comes.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY FOR THE GREAT THINGS HE HAS DONE

Love you all,
Linda Munson
